Fog and smoke effects are allowed but you must contact the Lowell Fire Department and notify them of what kind of effects you are planning on using in the arena.  The Lowell Fire Department requires an additional Fireman on duty for all special effects.

There are no catwalks or fall suppression system anywhere in the arena: steel is accessible by a rented 66 ft. boom lift.

Height:
Floor to low steel is 51 ft.
Floor to high steel is 67 ft.

Trusses:
16 ft. high

Rigging load per beam using a dead hang = 4000 lbs.

Rigging load per beam using a 45o bridal = 2500 lbs.

There are only four types of rigging beams in the building super structure; these are types A.B.C. and D (see diagram on next page).

No rigging will be allowed on any other beam, truss, pipe, or other structural member.

All rigging loads should be suspended by cables across the top flange of the rigging beams with a burlap cloth between beam and cable to protect beam paint.

Beam clamps, which are attached to one side of the bottom flange of beams will not be permitted.

After rigging is complete the rigging boom lift must exit the floor from the stage left vomitory. Whatever the stage width is, at least 12 ft. between the stage left side and the dasher boards must be left clear, during load-in, for the lift to exit. The boom lift is always parked in the loading dock area. The remaining portion of the stage left side would be built immediately upon the lift’s exit, After the event, as soon as the stage left portion of the stage is cleared of equipment. That part of the stage left side of the stage will be broken down to allow the lift to reenter the floor for de-rigging.
